Hello and welcome to the blog. I’m Mike Livesay. I worked professionally as a video game developer during most of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. I finished my first published game in the early 80s at the beginning of the 8-bit era and my final title just as the second generation of 3D consoles were hitting the market. I pretty much saw it all and there was quite a bit to see, believe me. It was a wild ride, both incredibly challenging and stressful at times, yet also incredibly fun and rewarding overall.
I hope to use this blog to chronicle my journey through the early days of the game biz, as well as to muse about programming, pixels, life, 6502 op codes, and whatever my current obsession is this week.
Many thanks for reading - I hope it will be an entertaining and enlightening journey for us both!
Hi Michael,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog - looks really promising! I've been trying to contact you over the last few days, first via LinkedIn and then with an email address I found for you, but I'm guessing your LinkedIn account has fallen out of use, and it seems likely that the email address I used is an old one.
To explain, I'm a freelance writer for the UK print magazine Retro Gamer, and I was wondering if it might be possible to ask you three or four questions about Miner 2049er II for an article that I’m putting together?
If you could let me know if you might have time for a quick phone call I'd be very grateful, many thanks, Rory Milne.
